FPIP celebrated the 2011 International Coastal Cleanup Day on September 24, 2011. FPIP employees, with the support of service providers, participated in cleaning the San Juan River by collecting trash along the 160-meter length of both sides of the riverbank (Sto. Tomas and Tanauan portions). Employees were able to collect a total of 51 sacks of non-biodegradable wastes, equivalent to 1,301 kgs.

FPIP recently hosted the Walk the Talk Series 2011 on June 18, 2011 with the special participation of Chairman Emeritus, Mr. Oscar M. Lopez. There were 13 companies from the Lopez Group who joined the walk, with a total of 231 participants. Participants successfully finished the 9 km. walk of the park roads and Eco parks. Participants also planted 150 Kamagong trees and 100 Indian trees. Fresh

It was another dream come true for Oscar M. Lopez (OML). Making things happen is in his genes. The seed took root years ago from a picture he saw of Mt. Kinabalu in Sabah, Borneo. It took shape as he was conquering the tallest peaks of Luzon (Mt. Pulag), Visayas (Mt. Kanlaon) and Mindanao (Mt. Apo).

In its annual stockholders' meeting held today, First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH), disclosed its first quarter results for 2011. Total net income amounted to P1.4 billion, while net income attributable to Parent was at P567 million. In 2010, net income attributable to Parent amounted to P24.6 billion on account of the P23.6 billion gain on sale of the Meralco shares.

FPIP's subsidiary FPIP Utilities, Inc. (FUI) was crowned champion in the First Association of FPIP Locators, Inc. (AFLI) - Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Committee quiz contest. FPIP employees geared up for sharing their talents and knowledge in the Teacher for A Day program held last October 21, 2009. The program is under the Eskwela Caravan that encourages employee volunteerism.
