THE PARTNERS

First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) is a joint venture undertaking between First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPHC) and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan.

Established in 1961, FPHC is major publicly listed company with core business in power and energy and strategic initiatives in property, infrastructure and manufacturing.

Among the major power-related investments of FPHC are the following: Manila Electric Company (MERALCO), the largest electricity distribution utility in the Philippines; First Gas Holdings Corporation, the natural gas holding company that is putting up power plants with a total of 1,500 MW capacity; Bauang Private Power Corporation, a 225 MW diesel power plant in La Union; and the Panay Power Corporation, a 72 MW diesel power plant in Iloilo City. FPHC also has investments in the following: First Philippine Industrial Corporation, operator of the country's largest commercial oil pipeline; Philippine Electric Corporation, the country's pioneer manufacturer of distribution transformer; First Electro Dynamic Corporation, the country’s largest service center for distribution and power transformers; First Philippine Balfour Beatty, an engineering and construction company; First Philippine Infrastructure Development Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, was responsible for the rehabilitation, upgrade and maintenance of the 84-kilometer North Luzon Expressway;Rockwell Land Corporation, the developer of a 15.5 hectare prime mixed-use inner city property in Makati City; and First Sumiden Circuits, Inc., a manufacturer of flexible printed circuits.

FPHC is a member of the Benpres Holdings Corporation (BHC), the listed holding company of the Lopez family. BHC has holding and strategic companies in other business sectors: broadcasting (ABS-CBN), telecommunications (BayanTel), infrastructure (First Philippine Infrastructure Development Corporation), water (Maynilad Water) and property (Rockwell Land). The firms under BHC are leading companies in their respective industries.
